Comedian and actor D.L. Hughley, star of the ABC-TV sitcom The Hughleys, will bring his stand-up act to The Center's Carol Morsani Hall Sunday, Nov. 7 at 7:30PM.

While he enjoys doing television, his first love is stand-up comedy. Reviewer Bill Keveney of The Charlotte Observer wrote about a July 1999 show that the audience hung on his every joke.

"Hughley talked about growing up poor and black and laced his quick-paced chatter with profanity, but he seemed less an angry comic than a guy who knows how things are. He's just seen tough times, worked hard to earn the good times, and he prefers the good times," wrote Keveney.

During his show Hughley humorously reminisces about earlier days, like when he and his siblings took baths with dirty laundry - and used Tide for soap.
